How long do batteries last?

While European manufacturers provide an 8-year warranty on batteries, Chinese manufacturers are increasingly using a lifetime warranty. That is, the battery life is approaching the life of the car itself.

It is ideal to charge the battery to 80% and discharge to 20%. This is taxi mode. It is no coincidence that there was information in the news that one taxi driver drove 1 million kilometers without changing the battery. Batteries really don’t like to remain at 100% charge for a long time and it is simply fatal for them to be parked for a long time with a discharged battery.

Every electric train has a battery management system that monitors its “health.” When choosing a car, keep in mind that cars with air-heated/cooled batteries (Nissan Leaf) degrade by 4% per year, and with liquid-heated batteries (Audi, VW, BMW, Tesla) - 2%. That is, it’s probably better to choose liquid.
